4, 6 and 8 oz per square yard. Rolls to 95 inches. Ten business days from purchase order to shipment, and no minimum if you pick up in Houston.
Geotextile does two jobs at once: it lets water through and holds soil back. A needle-punched non-woven does that better than a woven fabric of the same weight because the punched web has an open, three-dimensional pore structure rather than a flat grid. We make ours in Houston on the same needle-punch lines we have run since 2016. No binders, no coatings.
| Weight | Metric | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| 4 oz/sy | 136 gsm | Drainage, separation, landscape and weed barrier |
| 6 oz/sy | 203 gsm | Separation and stabilisation, French drain wrap |
| 8 oz/sy | 271 gsm | Pond and liner underlayment, protection matting |
Wrapping the stone keeps fines out of the pipe and keeps the drain working for years instead of months. Our narrower rolls suit this better than a 12.5 foot roll, which has to be cut down before it goes in a trench.
A cushion layer under an EPDM or RPE liner, protecting it from stones and roots. 8 oz is the usual choice.
Between subgrade and aggregate, so the base course does not disappear into soft soil.
Under artificial turf base, as a weed barrier and separation layer.
Under decorative rock, pavers and planting beds.
A cushion layer over membranes and below grade.
Mechanically bonded only. No binders, resins, adhesives or coatings, so the open pore structure that makes it drain is not glued shut.
No minimum if you pick up at the dock in Houston. Ten rolls if we deliver. No container, no truckload, no metric ton.
Our own 2 needle-punch lines at 9189 Winkler Drive, Suite E, running since 2016. Not imported, not converted.
No reps and no ticket queue. Call or text (832) 895-1110 and you get the person who can say yes.
Heavier weights, unusual widths, a construction we have not run before - the answer is the same.
We would rather send you to the right supplier than sell you the wrong fabric and spend the next six months on the phone about it. Start with a sample or call an owner at (832) 895-1110.
Civil geotextile is usually sold in 12.5 and 15 foot rolls, and we max out at 95 inches. For distributor stocking or a highway job, that is a real limitation and we will say so. For trench work, pond liners, turf and landscape, narrower rolls are easier to handle and produce less waste, and that is where we fit best.
Most civil geotextile is polypropylene. Ours is polyester, which has better creep resistance and better UV resistance, but polyester is not the right choice in high-pH conditions such as lime-stabilised subgrade or direct concrete contact. If your spec calls for polypropylene for a chemistry reason, believe the spec.
We would rather lose a job on an honest answer than replace a failed one.
We do not currently publish AASHTO M288 minimum average roll values, and we are not listed on an NTPEP or TxDOT approved products list. If your project requires a listed product, we are not it yet. If your project needs good fabric at the right weight, delivered from twenty minutes away, call us.
